Welcome Back Pezi Hota

The Welcome Back Pezi Hota (Gray Grass/Sage) engagement this June provided an opportunity to connect with the land, our plant relatives, and our community while engaging in purposeful work. Connecting to the land is essential for healing our shared environment as it reconnects the people and the land to language, culture, and traditions. It also promoted a sense of identity and belonging, which are crucial for our overall well-being. Furthermore, land-based practices provide a sustainable way of life deeply rooted in the indigenous culture.

We are excited to report the transplanted Pezi Hota , harvested from Prairie Island, has sprouted baby leaves and are establishing themselves very well at He Mni Can.

We thank our community members for their overwhelming support.
