Join us for Zipper Your Own Path, where school-aged youth (Preschool - 12th) select a handcrafted zipper pencil pouch, each made with care and offered in a variety of colors and themes. One side of every pouch is a blank canvas—an open space for kids to express their individuality, dreams, and stories.
In addition to designing their own pouches, youth will choose from a collection of small treasures to place inside. These pouches serve not only as practical school supplies but as Living Bundles—intentional containers for healing, grounding, and personal connection as they walk into a new school year.
Presented by the Honoring Dakota Project in partnership with Red Wing Arts, this community event is part of a larger series that centers intercultural learning and shared values through an Indigenous lens. Mitakuye Owasin — We are all related.
The engagement will begin at 5 PM with a Zipper Your Own Path presentation by Charisse Nepoose. This is free and open to the public. Drop in between 5 - 8 PM.
A special thank you to Linda Theilbar, Linda Bang, and Lynda Kern for their support in sewing the pencil cases for this engagement. And to Red Wing Public Schools for the donation of books.
